RJ45 connectors
Download Technical sheet
The physical form of the male and female connectors commonly known today as RJ45 is normally designated as 8P8C (to indicate a flat connector that can receive up to 8 contact positions, of which the 8 positions can be used as contacts, and with a common mechanical system on the side opposite the contact positions). This connector is physically compatible with the 6P6C connector (which has two fewer positions and therefore two fewer possible contacts for wiring, and which is widely used to connect current telephones with an RJ11 connection diagram). Two types exist : straight cable and cross cable. used to connect a host device to a network hub or switch.
